Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Pick up from Sandakan airport or hotel transfer to the jetty. At 0930hrs, boat departs to Turtle Island. It takes about an hour to reach Selingan Island which lies 40km north of Sandakan in the Sulu See off Sabah's east coast. Selingan Island is the main nesting area for the green turtles. A day of relaxation for you to swim or take snorkel at the Island. After dinner prepare to wait the Park Ranger to inform of the sighting of a turtle laying eggs. Witness the collecting of eggs from the nesting site, planting them in the hatchery and see baby turtles scrambling to the open sea upon released on the shore. Overnight at the Island Chalet.(Lunch & dinner)

Day 2
After breakfast depart at 0700hrs, return to Sandakan. Proceed to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre situated in the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve. Learn about the rehabilitation of orphaned orang utan before taking a boardwalk through the lowland rainforest to view the feeding platform. Witness the feeding of orang utan at 1000hrs.

Continue with about 2 hours drive through rustic countryside studded with villages until arrive Sukau & check-in to a Lodge. Time for orientation and check in. lunch; in the late afternoon join a river cruise to see proboscis monkeys and other wildlife along the river bank. Overnight at Lodge.

Day 3
Depart early morning and drive to Gomantong Cave located within the Gomantong forest reserve. Explore the biggest bird’s nest cave in Sabah. Take lunch at Sandakan. Proceed to city tour, visit water village, central market and Buddhist temple. After tour, drop off at Sandakan airport or hotel. End of services. (Breakfast & lunch)

Package excluded: Airfare, camera/video fee.

Minimum: 2 persons, SIC basis.

What to bring: Good walking shoes, light raincoat, insect repellent, sun block, leech socks, binoculars.
